Wallbreaking Ceremony

 

The Santa Barbara Museum of Art broke new ground with a “Wallbreaking” ceremony on Saturday, November 14, 2015.  A dozen members of the Museum family wielded mini-sledgehammers as they smashed symbolic first holes in the walls of McCormick Gallery, signaling the start of the most important construction project in the SBMA’s 75-year history.

Public Is Invited to Wallbreaking/Public Launch of Capital Campaign on November 14

As the Santa Barbara Museum of Art (SBMA) prepares to begin its critical renovation project, the public is invited to a “wallbreaking” ceremony and official launch of the Museum’s capital campaign on Saturday, November 14. The free, open-house event is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., with the wallbreaking to occur at 6:15 pm with the participation of special guests. A Powerful Campaign to Transform the Museum

More than 150 friends and supporters of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art gathered on September 13, 2014, to learn about the Museum’s most ambitious capital campaign in its history.

The campaign will transform the Museum, by creating superb new facilities that will provide a seamless 21st century museum experience for visitors.
